Chesapeake boosts profit on rising output as oil prices plunge

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (Bloomberg) -- Chesapeake Energy Corp., the U.S. natural gas producer that’s been selling assets to fund a shift into oil, reported a rise in third-quarter profit as higher output and cost-cutting made up for the drop in crude prices.
